THANKS GOOGLE! >:(
Well this blog is now broken thanks to the fact I could no longer go in a edit my old blogger templates any longer. Don't get me wrong I like their new blogging system and find it very nice, but for the purpose of this particular blog it broken and I'm going to have to find another blogging system that 1) doesn't use tons of ads and 2) preferably free.
I can hope that Koz at BlogHUD figures out the new api for the new blogger system, but I can wait that long. it was my hope to keep everything on the google system, unfortunately my hand was forced and now Im stuck with a blog that doesn't work. They were in an all fired hurry to convert fols to the point of not concidering what crossposting platforms worked (or at least figuring out a way to bridge.) Well there a weeks worth of work down the drain.
Welcome to the Metaverse...
Welcome to 2nd Life Education. This blog and the additional components (Forums, SLurls, Events calendar and additional links) are here as a support space for educators, students and anyone interest in teaching in the virtual world known as Second Life.

The Ivory Tower
In my continued search for places to go for people new to Second Life, I offer the first stop on the New Users Tour, The Ivory Tower. This place is for those who wish to learn more about building objects. Unlike NCI that offers live classes, you tour the area like a museum, each exhibit offering a step in learning more about the building process.

HUDs... What are they?
If you've spent any fair amount of time in SL you've probably hear someone talk about or seen signs selling HUDs. They are typically additional buttons that provide you with features that do not exist (or are hard to get to) in the original UI. We'll use gestures for an example. Say you went to a show and you enjoyed it. you'd want to clap at the end of it. You can do this already by typing /clap in the textbox... but thats time consuming. Another way is to use the gestures drop-down, but again, takes too much time. With a HUD you can have a button in your window to clap when the show is done, Neat! For beginners I'd suggest SL New User Learning Tour HUD! A great way to Learn SL!!!

For those who where too excited to sit through Orientation ...
If you have a new avatar, but didn't stick around for the full Orientation when you first logged into SL, heres you second chance! NCI / New Citizens Incorporated, is where you'll want to go! It has Freebees, Lessons, Learning Material and even landmarks useful to the SL newbie. Theres even a LM to Orientation Castle for those who Skipped (or need a refresher "Basic skills" Practice.) So if you find youself wishing you'd learned that trick everyone seems to be doing while your still struggling with the UI? This is a MUST visit for you! Check them out, they are a great bunch of folks!

Welcome to Encapsulated Cyberspace!
Okay I know I was a Big Second Life junkie back in the day. If we had the ability to post blogs from within the Grid, I would have never left and would have found a way to be the next Ashne Chung. (More on her later, for those who don't know) This is a test post really to see if crossposting works, but I think I'll keep it up because RadEd looks so cool here :)
